When ghostly wind-blown clouds are flying
Above the silent darkened streets.
The leaves are falling from trees near dying
And children do their trick or treats,
Along the quiet village streets;

October's reign is old and weary.
Its bright blue skies have long since faded
Into days grown cold and dreary
Awaiting now its final hour
As winter waits with icy power.

Enjoy these fleeting autumn days
And watch the dimming sunlight dances
On golden ponds and silver bays.
Enjoy a happy Halloween
And the timeless autumn scene.
