Every week one of our biggest challenges is to find a really great freeware program for you. As freeware continues to fade into the dark corners of cyberspace, replaced in an Internet teaming with freeware that comes loaded with spyware, trickware, goadware, gotcha-ware, adware, and the like, we struggle to seek out brave new real freeware developers and boldly take you where no freeware seeker has gone before.

Despite this week's Freeware Pick Of The Week's clunky name - NIYoW -which, I guess, is supposed be an acronym for "Name It Your Way Now", there couldn't anything more handy for those of us who need to rename hundreds of digital photos (or other files). Yeh, yeh! Those Windows aficionados among you will be shouting from the rooftops that Windows allows you to batch-rename files by holding-down the CTRL key, selecting the files you want to rename, standing on your head, counting to 10,233, pressing the SHIFT key down with your big toe, and hitting ENTER while holding in the ANY key with your nose (and I'm just being facetious here- so don't write and tell me how Windows really does let you rename files, trust me I do really know how). And while Windows does have a way (really) to batch rename files, it is not particularly intuitive or flexible. And, by now, most of you know that I am the King of Easy. EB calls me "Mr. Easy". You many have several other choice names for me.  But, let me bask in my ignorance here. I like think well of myself and don't need to be denigrated or reminded that I'm goofy. I really do know that too!

I could prattle on endlessly here but I will not. I know you good folks have better things to do than to read my incessant pontification. So, without any more hype, I'm inviting our Freeware Pick Of The Week's developer in to tell you about his cool, robust, little program. He does it better than I could and his English is probably better than mine too, even though, apparently he's Egyptian. OK, my Egyptian friend, take it away!

If you have lots of files and/or folders to rename, and you don't like standing on your head, pressing and holding the SHIFT key down with your big toe, while juggling a glass of water on your head, and you do a lot of batch renaming of files and folders then you'll absolutely love NIYoW. If you never rename files or folders - what's wrong with you? Don't you ever use your computer? We all have files and folders to rename - and I'm sure you do too - but you don't like all the work it used to entail, right? You'll love our Freeware Pick Of The Week this week. I find it amazing that this program isn't being sold for $19.95 or more. If you don't hurry and get it now while it's free, that's probably what it will cost in a few months. It's happened before. So, grab our Freeware Pick Of The Week, right now - or get all the details by visiting the NIYoW Web site.
