Pete wants to know why we're so high on Spyware Doctor and Registry Mechanic
I have been a registered user of Registry Fix for about four years and also NoAdware. I have never had a problem using either one until I purchased Avast 4.8 Professional. Registry Fix still works good, but on three occasions, recently, Avast gave me a Malware Virus Alert, which I can't clear without completely reloading NoAdware. You are both high on Registry Mechanic and Spyware Doctor. Before I consider purchasing both programs, can you give me some insight as to why I should purchase them? I have learned to trust your judgment almost always, and would appreciate your feedback on this matter. As I've told you before Cloudeight Internet is the best URL I have found on the net. Spyware Doctor continues to be our choice among anti-spyware simply because it works - and works with a minimum of trouble and resources. It's easy for users to configure as well. We shut off its "cookie blocker", ad-blockers and other features (varying with version). Users can configure it as they want it through a very simple, uncomplicated interface. The only "con" we have about Spyware Doctor is that they now try to upsell you to Spyware Doctor PLUS Anti-virus, which we don't use or recommend. It's not because it's a bad anti-virus, but it's new anti-virus (it has not passed the test of time) and there are better ones (like AVAST) out there. AVAST is free for non-commercial (home) users and doesn't bundle other software with it.

Registry Mechanic is the only registry cleaning / optimizing program we've ever tried that you can run out-of-box and not have to worry about something being messed up or mis-configured on your computer when you're done running it. Not only does it work it works well. Our computers are well-maintained because they have to be. We cannot afford to spend hours tweaking and fixing our computers, because our computers are the way we make a living.

We could spend hours, deleting useless entries and clutter from our computers' registries manually, but we don't have that kind of time. Until we found Registry Mechanic, we hardly ever had time to remove outdated, useless junk entries leftover in the registry from software that we'd installed and later uninstalled. We tried a dozen or so different "registry fixers" but every single time we ran them something on our computers didn't work correctly, so we ended up wasting more time trying to get our computers back to the way they were. We didn't need to be spending this kind of extra time fixing up what the registry "fixers" broke.

Then we tested Registry Mechanic both expecting the worst. But we were both pleasantly surprised when we found Registry Mechanic not only cleaned, optimized, and repaired our registries but also left our computers working BETTER than before we ran it - not worse as had always been the case with the others we had tried.

Since then we have used Registry Mechanic once every week on all of our computers.

And we want to add here, that those who expect miracles because they run Registry Mechanic might be disappointed to learn that there is more to good maintenance than just pressing a button and running Registry Mechanic. Controlling start up programs, clearing junk, garbage, temporary internet files, etc is important too. As is making sure that all hardware drivers are updated and that all Windows updates are installed and current. But, when used in combination with other good computer maintenance procedures, Registry Mechanic makes an invaluable addition to your computer maintenance toolbox. It's one program that neither of us would be without.
