Here are several services that offer online storage space (of varying amounts) free of charge. All offer additional storage space, up to one terabyte. The additional storage space is not free.

ADrive offers 50 gigabytes of free storage space - the most we've ever seen. A simple sign-up is all that is required. They offer plans with up to 1 terabyte (1000 gigabytes) of storage. The free service is ad supported - no popups, no spyware, no adware.

While this sounds more like a car rental company than an online storage space, and despite its coolspeak name (we are iSick of names like iPod, iPhone, iMac, and all those other Apple-flavored monikers) iDrive offers 2 GB of free storage space and a minimum of hassle. Although we don't know why you'd want 2GB of storage when you could get 50 GB of storage at ADrive - but you never know. To each his own.

Another one of the ludicrously named "Live" sites - Microsoft's feeble attempt to catch up to the Internet, Skydrive provides users with 5 gigabytes of free storage space. Unless you already use MSN or one of Microsoft's other Live services, you might want to avoid this one. It's replete with all the garbage that makes the other Live stuff so obnoxious (in our opinion). If you're a fan of the "Live" stuff, and you already have an account, you might want to use this. Otherwise you'll be better off with ADrive or iDrive.
