Favorite Links - One of our Favorite Features Of Windows Vista

In Windows Vista, there are some major changes to the way Windows Explorer works. For most (including us) this new "look" takes some time to get used to. But once you get used to it, you're going to find out that it's far more powerful and intuitive than any of its predecessors.

One of our favorite features we like is the new "Favorite Links" section.  When you first look at it doesn't look like anything particularly interesting - you see only a few folders listed. But the useful and unique part of it is that you can add your most frequently used folder names there so that they are always just a click away. And you'll find yourself "navigating" to your favorite folders less and less and using your Favorite Links section more and more. This makes your computer time more productive and less frustrating.

Here's how to add a folder to the list: Just navigate to the folder you want to add to the "Favorite Links" section and drag it into the Favorite Links pane. As you're dragging it into that section you'll notice a horizontal line will appear. That horizontal line shows you exactly where in the list your folder will be placed. You can organize the folders in the list by dragging them up and down to arrange them anyway you wish. We like to put our most often used folders at the top. Duh! Seems like most people would do that, eh?
