Linda Cannot Click Links In Outlook Express
Hello... You have been so helpful and answered so many of my questions
without me even to have asked them! THANK YOU!!! I do have one, however, that
I've not seen addressed and I hate to even ask because I know it is something I
did and is probably a simple fix... Here goes: When I'm in OE and there is a
link back to IE and I click on it, it won't work. I have to look at bottom of
screen and get the total address, write it down, open up IE, type it in,
etc.,etc., and that is a pain!!! I used to be able to just click on the link and
it would go right over! HELP!!! Linda K
Answer
After uninstalling another web
browser such as Firefox or Netscape; or
another email program like Incredimail, you
may find that clicking a link in Outlook
Express no longer works. Here's the first
thing to try: Open Internet Explorer, click
on Tools, Internet Options and select the
Programs tab. Make sure the message
"Internet Explorer should check to see
whether it is the default browser" is
checked. If not, then check it! Press Okay
and close Internet Explorer. This will
repair the problem where you've downloaded
another browser and that browser made itself
default; then subsequently you uninstalled
the browser.
Next, open Internet Explorer again, click on
Tools/Internet Options and again click the
Programs Tab and make sure that "Outlook
Express" is selected as your default e-mail
program (it will appear next to "Email" in
the Programs dialog). If is not shown there,
use the down arrow to choose it from the
list. Click "Apply" then OK. This will
repair the problem where you downloaded
another email program and it made itself
default - and then you subsequently
uninstalled that program.
If neither of these simple steps work for
you see the suggestions in

(Internet Shortcuts in Outlook Express Don't
Start Browser).
