Jane Inexplicably Lost Her Favorites
First of all, let me tell you how much I appreciate you and all of the help you give all of us out here in cyberspace! Here's a question I haven't seen in Info Avenue before & it sure has me stumped! I have installed Zappit, Email Guardian, Spy Sweeper, Kerio Personal Firewall, Avast Antivirus, Spam Bully, & RoboForm - all the purchased versions after trying the free version as recommended by you.  Now for the problem, a few days ago I noticed that my "Favorites" and all of the Funletters that I had downloaded were GONE!?!  I tried to do a system restore to get them back with no luck.  I had several (probably in excess of 25) favorites all categorized in their own type of folder; and I couldn't guess how many funletters I had installed, but all of them disappeared.  Any suggestions where they went? Thanks again for all you do for all of us!

Answer
Thanks Jane. First we want to thank you for the support you've given us. Secondly, you're in luck. You have our E-mail Backup Guardian program installed. And if you've been backing up with it regularly you can restore your "Favorites" and your "Funletters" in a flash. Just open E-mail Backup Guardian, click the big "Restore" button, select a backup you made before your "Favorites" disappeared. Then select the items you wish to restore. In your case that would be your Internet Explorer Favorites and your "Stationery" folder (because that's where the Funletters were installed).

For those of you reading this who don't have Email Backup Guardian installed you can make a backup copy of your Favorites at any time by following the instructions below:

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click on "File" (on the toolbar) then click "Import and Export"
3. The Import/Export Wizard appears - click "Next" to proceed (Duh!)
4. Select "Export Favorites" from the menu on the left hand side
5. Click Next
6. Select which Favorites to Export. We suggest you just select the entire "Favorites" folder as that will backup all sub-folders too.
7. Select the location you wish to store you backup file and give it a name like "Favorites-backup-22october2005.htm".
8. Click Finish. If your Favorites were successfully exported you'll receive a message that  your Favorites were successfully exported.
