Henry Asks About Outlook Express "Grouping" Of Received Emails
Lately, when we download new emails, Outlook Express has started to group the incoming emails by the sender or subject. Sometimes, this results in the incoming email getting "buried" under a previous email from the same person or about the same subject. We want it to go back to keeping them in chronological order. Is there any thing we can do to make it stop grouping?

Answer
You can sort (group) emails any number of ways. We always sort our emails by "time/date received" in descending order - that assures the newest emails are always at the top of the list. But, you can sort them many other ways too. For instance, you can sort by time/date received, sender, subject, size, subject, sent, to, attachments, etc. It's very easy to do.

Open Outlook Express, look at your inbox (or whatever folder you want to work with). On the right side, at the top of the message area, you'll see received, sender, subject, size, subject, sent, to, attachments, etc.. To sort your email by "received" or any of the others just click on it. Here's a picture for you:

You can also sort your email by clicking on "View" then "Sort by" and selecting any one of the categories provided there. You can also choose to have them sorted in ascending or descending order.
