This Week's
Rant
The Sanguine Moon
Last night, after a week
of reading about it and hearing about it on the news, we
had a full, lunar eclipse. As with most press-hyped events,
the sanguine moon event was yet another disappointment.
Astronomers excitedly coaxed
me to look by saying that if I missed this wonder
I'd have to wait until 2010 to see it again. This sent waves
of urgency running through me until I realized that 2010
is less than two years away.
Well, you just never know.
I figured I'd better watch it this time - just in case.
While I watched the earth's
shadow crawl across the surface of the moon - I waited with
breathless anticipation to see the earth's dusty and particulated
atmosphere cast its polluted umbra across the pocked, lunar
face. I was perfectly ready to be teased, titillated and
awed by the site of a bloated, blood-red moon hovering ruddy
in the clear, winter sky.
I gazed up waiting for the awe - straining my neck
to watch that ancient orb turn ruddy and pale on a star-lit
night.
Maybe, they said, the moon might be tinged with turquoise.

Top Questions and Answers
Belinda wants to know some good sites
to help her check on virus hoaxes
I want you to know that I depend on Cloudeight for all my
e-mail/Windows needs and knowledge and I think you do a
FANTASTIC JOB!! KEEP IT UP!!
Secondly, I never open e-mails from people/companies that
I either don't know or subscribe to. I delete them quick
as a wink.
I'm writing tonight to ask your advice on a reliable website
to check out all these virus e-mail alerts that keep arriving
in my e-mail box from well meaning friends. I have gone
to a few sites and hope they are correct. With you long
lasting experience of software and websites, I was hoping
you could direct me to a respectable site that I won't have
any qualms on believing.

Luana asks about Google Pack
I saw a "Google Pack" site where I could download free
software, including the free start edition of Spyware
Doctor, Picasa, Star Office and several other programs.
You could select which programs you wanted. When reading
the license agreement, I noticed that in the privacy
part, it mentioned information being able to be collected
and sent to the software programs and third party, even
oversees. I was suspicious about this and did not click
to agree.
I have and am using Spy Sweeper but have read in my
CloudEight newsletters that it is ok to have more than
one spyware program. I noticed that Spy Blaster also
was a free program to download. Is this Google Pack
and also this Spy Blaster safe to download?
I trust your suggestions and have been a long time subscriber
to your
Premium newsletter.
