Save 20% On Registry Mechanic & Stop Computer Crashes!

We've received more unsolicited reader testimonials for Registry Mechanic than we have for any other Cloudeight-recommended and endorsed program. Each week we receive dozens of reader comments about the big difference in computer performance Registry Mechanic has made. These unsolicited comments come from readers just like you who relate their own experiences with Registry Mechanic to us. It's easy to see why so many people have written - Registry Mechanic makes computers run better and can save you a lot of money helping you avoid expensive repair bills!

Here are a just two of the many comments we received this week about Registry Mechanic.

ScreenshotA Comment From Judith
I kept reading positive comments about Registry Mechanic in your InfoAve Premium Newsletter so I finally bought it for my year old laptop. That was about six weeks ago, I've had no problems with it and last week I bought another subscription of it for my 3 year old PC. It found/repaired 908 problems. Registry Mechanic is one tool I would recommend for sure. I use IE 7. Judith - happy computer user.

A Comment From Jim R.
"...before I knew about Registry Mechanic, I downloaded a different registry cleaner. In the scan it found almost 1000 errors. When I got Registry Mechanic, it found 600 errors. I have often wondered about the difference. Then I got your wonderful 3rd e-book. You speak often of registry cleaners that cause problems. I believe that I was saved from a problem by going with Registry Mechanic. You two are the greatest! Take Care, Jim R..."

Registry Mechanic uses a high-performance detection algorithm to quickly identify missing and invalid references in your Windows registry. These problems can occur for many reasons including being left-behind after the un-installation or incorrect removal of software, by missing or corrupt hardware drivers, or orphaned startup programs. This Week's Rant

No Telling With Hotels.Com

There's no telling if you book a room with Hotels.com whether or not the room you booked and paid for through Hotels.com will actually be available when you arrive.

There's no telling if the room rate you were quoted is actually the best rate for that room when you actually check in.

There's no telling how many rooms Hotels.com may have overbooked at the hotel where you reserved a room. Actually there's no telling what's going to happen when you book with Hotels.com.

What we know for sure is this: Visit this page to read the rest of this rant.

This Week's Top Questions and Answers

Carly wants to know what's up with all the "Share" buttons on our site
What are these "Share" buttons I'm noticing on some of your page? Are they safe? Thanks, Carly.

Our answer
Great question and a wise thing to ask Carly.

We've gotten this question a few times recently. You may have noticed we are starting to add these buttons to more and more pages. These buttons help us grow and help you tell your friends about us in an non-invasive way. Some pages offer you the chance to "Email" the link of the page to a friend. If this option is available on the page you're reading and you choose the "Email" option, the email will come from your address and will only be sent to the person's address you typed in. We don't get a copy, we don't save a copy, we don't store a copy - in fact, we never see it. The only thing we see is how many people used the button. We don't know who used it or who the page was shared with. Whatever you type in your email to a friend is completely private and so are the email addresses.

If you choose to add to your MySpace, Facebook, or other community site, we don't store any private data, all we know is that someone used the button to add one of our pages to their community site account.

You'll also notice options to "Digg" an article or one of our Web pages or share it in other ways. Whichever way you choose to share our pages and our site with your friends and family members, we want you to know it is completely private.

The important thing is that you use the buttons when you see them, if you think the content of that page, or our site, would be useful, entertaining, or educational.

These buttons are very important to us because they help us grow. As the Web grows it's important that we grow along with it. We don't have a lot of money so we cannot afford to buy ads promoting our site. Word of mouth though, is still, by far, the best form of advertising.

So, please, whenever you see a "Share" button, share our site, articles, essays, rants, and pages with others. You'll be helping us grow and keep up with sites who have millions of dollars to buy advertising. If you use these "Share" buttons, we'll have the best advertising campaign that money can't buy - and that's you and your friends telling other friends about us.

Jerry wants to know if there's a way to remove the text under program icons
I often wondered if there was a way to remove the text from under icons on my desktop. For instance, I know what the icon for Outlook Express looks like. I don't really need the text to show underneath that says "Outlook Express" (I hope you know what I mean!). I know what all the icons on my desktop stand for so I don't need the text under them. If anyone knows how to remove it, you will. I'm using Windows XP Home. Thanks for the great newsletters - Jerry.

This Week's Top Tips and Tricks

Email Links Don't Open Right In Internet Explorer 7
Windows XP and Windows Vista with Internet Explorer 7 installed
Written for Outlook Express users but should work for Outlook users too.

Every week we get a few readers who are perplexed because when they click a link in email (or even on the Web) nothing seems to happen. For some unknown reason, the most recent tab is not highlighted or opened by default. So, if you have IE7 open to any page and you then read an email and click any link in it,  it will open in a new tab. However, logically, one would assume that the new tab would be the open tab or it would at least be highlighted. But, it is not.  Read the rest of this tip here.

It's Tax Time - Phishing time for crooks
All computer users

In the U.S.A. it's tax time. It's our favorite time of year, when all citizens get a chance to tithe to Uncle Sam. This year, Uncle Sam is going to borrow money from China and give most of us the money in the form of a rebate check hoping we'll all go out and buy big screen TVs made in China, cars made in Japan, or computers made in Mexico. This is somehow supposed to "stimulate" the economy and make us all feel good about Uncle Sam. Of course, anytime you borrow money you have to pay it back. Since without us (the citizens) Uncle Sam has no money, guess who's eventually going to have to pay back the money that Uncle Sam borrowed to give us all a gift? That's right - you and me. Uncle Sam gives us a gift and eventually we have to pay for it. Can you imagine doing that to your family at Christmas?

Don't be scammed, some of these phishing emails and telephone scams are very convincing - don't be tricked - be smart. Read the rest of this tax time tip here!
