Locked Desktop Icons - A solution
Windows XP Home, Media and Professional
This tip is based on a question from Kim who
asked: "This is actually for my mother whom I've been trying to help. Her
computer is an XP. Someone used her computer and now her desktop icons are
locked into place. I've read several places trying to unlock them with no
luck. Any info will help. Thank You! Kim"
The solutions to locked icons on the desktop
is simple! Just right click on an empty area of the desktop. then
choose "Arrange Icons By" and remove the check mark next to Lock Web Items
on Desktop. See Image below:
You can also uncheck "Align to Grid" if you
want to place icons anywhere on your desktop without having them lined-up
precisely on your desktop.
