Donate $30 or more and get a Free 4.0 GB USB ReadyBoost Drive!
Speeds up your system without adding RAM! Use to store files too!

What is ReadyBoost? RAM is the best way to increase and improve your computer performance, but it can be expensive and difficult to add. ReadyBoost makes it easy! Just plug in a ReadyBoost compatible USB flash drive into your PC or laptop, and windows will ask it you want to use it to increase system performance!

  • Speed up your system - 3 easy steps!

  • Increases RAM without having to install it "inside" the computer

  • Reduces hard drive access which increases battery life on a laptop

  • Lots of storage space. Twice the capacity of our 2.0 GB flash drives- 4.0 Gigabytes!

  • You can choose to allocate part of a USB drive's memory to speed up performance and use the remainder to store files.

  • Change the amount you allocate for file storage/RAM anytime you want.

  • If you unplug it, nothing is lost; windows will remember to use it the next time you plug it in.

  • ReadyBoost only works with Vista and Windows 7

  • USB drive must be ReadyBoost compatible like this one; not all flash drives are.

Once you plug the drive into your computer, you will get an autoplay dialog box, with a selection for "Speed up my system". Turn on "Use this device" and you will get more memory! See how easy this is!

Click here to see a picture tutorial on how to use the USB to increase your system performance!

Click here to donate $30 or more and get the new 4.0 GB ReadyBoost USB Flash Drive! We a limited supply of these drives available!

Shirley asks how long Microsoft will support Windows Vista
I am using Vista and am using Windows Mail. I read your answer to William about not having to upgrade to Windows 7. He is using Windows XP and you told him that he doesn't have to upgrade until maybe 2014. Does this hold true for us who are using Vista? I sure hope so. Thanks for your time in this matter. Oh, I have been a Premium subscriber since day one and have learned so much from you. I have also been blessed enough to have been able to donate twice.

Our Answer
Thanks so much for your support and your kind words. The reason why Windows XP's life cycle was extended to 2014 was only because Windows Vista wouldn't run on the low-cost netbooks which are very popular right now. The only Windows that will work on netbooks is XP - and Windows 7, which won't be available until 10/22/2009. So, in order to provide the usual five year support cycle, Microsoft quietly kept extending the lifecycle of XP.

Vista users, well, they're not so lucky. According to Microsoft, Vista's support cycle ends in 2012. Figure that one out. I guess they really want Vista users to upgrade to Windows 7.

This week's Rant

The Child Inside

I don't mind those first few cold days of winter. I think the pristine whiteness of that first measurable snowfall is beautiful - and the newly white world serene and breathtaking. I like the way the sound cracks in the cold, clear, crisp air and I love to look at the skeletons of the summer trees when they are dressed it their covering of ghost-white snow.

My mind's vision of snowy hills and wistful flakes drifting through the winter twilight is both a happy one and a sadly nostalgic one. Never again will I be a small boy dragging a red sled behind me - and standing at the top of a mighty hill, looking down toward the bottom with trepidation and excitement. Never again will I be a young child with frozen fingers and toes, running home to glowing, warm house and a sweet cup of hot chocolate - that tastes even sweeter now because I know my mom made it for me from scratch. It was not the instant kind from a pouch.
