The Spirit of Christmas
(Christmas - Part 2)
"...If there is love in your heart and your
mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time
I feel you Christmas
I know I've found you
You never fade away
The joy of Christmas
Stays here inside us
Fills each and every heart with love.."
(Faith Hill, "Where Are You
Christmas?" from the soundtrack of "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas")
Snowflakes drifting in the cold and still winter air. The glow of streetlights
play off the the big silver flakes as they fall to silently to the ground. It's Christmas
eve, long ago. I walk down the quiet street holding the hand of my six year old son and it
doesn't get any better than this. I think that this is what life is all about. I say to my
son, "You know that I could tell it was Christmas eve even if I had no
calendar?" and he looks at me with those wonderful, trusting eyes; the kind only a
child has. You know the look: Full of wonder, hope and trust. He says "How dad?"
And I tell him because on Christmas eve the world takes a break from itself and is
peaceful and the quiet is a certain special kind of quiet that only happens on Christmas
eve. And he believes me. And, I really believe me too. He squeezes my hand and moves
closer to me. It is Christmas eve and the world is such a beautiful place.
I realize that the magic we created together on those Christmas eves so long ago
was created in our minds only; but to us, it was and is as real as anything can be.
Sometimes, it seems that the magic is gone. For, it is true that the world has changed
much since then. Now my kids are grown, and those magical Christmases and Christmas Eves
of long ago lie sleeping in some forgotten part of my mind waiting to be awakened by a
glimmer of thought or a tiny sliver of a memory. And, every Christmas, they start glowing
again as memories, beautiful and cherished, are rekindled by the Spirit of Christmas. This
year, I will try not to let them go back to sleep when Christmas is past. I will try to
keep them shining always. I will try to keep the Spirit of Christmas with me all the days
of my life. I will try to count my blessings and to be thankful for the things I do have
instead of wishing for the things I don't have.
You are among those most cherished of blessings. Those of you who have supported
our sites by subscribing to our newsletters, using our stationery, telling friends about
us, purchasing our products, participating in our forum or just visiting our sites, are
all are blessings to us. We will always count you among our blessings. Without you,
Cloudeight would be just the dream of a couple more consummate dreamers lost in a Web of
innumerable sites. You all are a blessing to us. We thank you sincerely for all you have
given to us: Your support, your kindness, your advice, and your loyalty. We are deeply
honored and will always strive to do our best to be deserving of you.
We both wish you and all those you hold dear, a very blessed Christmas. A
Christmas filled with the Light, Spirit, and Love of Christmas. May all of you, regardless
of your religion, experience the joy and peace of the true Spirit of Christmas. We hope
that you will spend time with those you love and cherish always the memories you will
surely make. We hope you will reflect upon and be thankful for the many blessings you
undoubtedly have.
And, we hope this year you will give the one gift that every single one of us can
afford, the greatest gift of all: The gift of love. It is the gift that doesn't cost
a thing; yet is priceless. It will never have to be returned, it will never be the
wrong size or color, it will never be outdated; it will never break, tarnish, or need to
be repaired or replaced.
Christmas is what we choose to make it. It transcends the narrow manmade
boundaries of race, creed, and religion. The Light of the Spirit of Christmas and the
teachings of Jesus shine upon us all regardless of our religion or lack of
it. At Christmas, those who choose to let the Light and Spirit of peace, compassion,
forbearance, forgiveness, faith, hope, charity, and goodwill toward all mankind shine in
their lives, will be blessed by the true "Spirit of Christmas". And, the light
of that Spirit can truly light the world.
Merry Christmas and God Bless Us, Every One
