Kathy's letter to MWB

Name: Kathy M.
Product: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Version: 1.75
Operating System: Windows 7 - 64 bit

I, like others am VERY
disappointed in your company. You have not responded to CLOUDEIGHT, and they
have always recommened your product. You are not getting rid of PUPS anymore! I
don't want Conduit and other crap on my computer and felt safe using
Malwarebytes..but I no longer do. It's too bad the those crap sites have gotten
to you and made your product no longer trustworthy. I won't be renewing with you
unless you see fit to start doing what you say you do. I, like thousands of
others rely on CLOUDEIGHT and trust them as I used to trust you.
Did they threaten you? They are crap sites that are almost impossible to get rid of. Surely you know that. Do you have any intention of getting back to removing PUPS again? If not, I'm sure I won't be the only person dropping your product.

Tom Mercado, Jul 02 09:38 am

Hello and
welcome to the Malwarebytes consumer helpdesk. Thank you for choosing
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware as your malware security solution, my name is Tom
Mercado and I'll be assisting you today.
You can expect an answer from
the corporate offices some time soon. We're collecting some data in regards to
these.
If you have any specific links please send them for us
to re-evaluate.
While these types of programs and additions are
unwanted by many, they're not malicious nor infections. We detect some as
'PUP'(Potentially Unwanted Programs' but cannot classify all due their actual
install practices, which when inclusive of an EULA or options to not install
prevents additions to the database in any way.
Users are advised to always
check for 'custom' installation options whenever adding any program to your
computer as this is the best way to avoid unwanted 'extras'.
See the links below for other
sources on these types of installations.

And btw, there is no 'renewal' for Malwarebytes, the
consumer version licenses are lifetime payments, no renewals or subscriptions
