Here's how to stop links in email from opening up in the current browser window. This is our default setting. It comes in handy especially if you often transact business online or don't want to lose the current page you're viewing in your browser. This tip forces any link your Outlook or Outlook Express email to open a new browser window. Please note that

Internet Explorer must be your default browser for this tip to work.

From Outlook Express main program window  (not the compose window) on the toolbar at the top, click "Tools" then select "Options" now click the "Connection" tab at the top. Now click the button that says "Change".

Under the "Browsing" header scroll down until you see "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts"
and remove the checkmark next to it. Then click "Apply" and then "OK".

From now on your email links will open up in a new browser window!
