How to change the amount of space reserved for System Restore in Windows XP:

  1. You can change the amount of disk space reserved for System Restore in Windows XP. If you have a large hard drive and lots of extra space, you may want to increase it. If you have a smaller hard drive, and less disk space, you may want to decrease.
  2. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.
  3. On the System restore tab click settings
  4. Use the slider to choose more or less disk space for system restore. Decreasing may reduce the number of available restore points. (minimum is 3% of your drive space, maximum is 12%)
