Unzip the file you downloaded. It will create a folder on your computer called "Raincrows". You'll find the five files listed above in that folder. If you're using a Windows PC or Laptop and don't want to download any other software (we recommend Calibre) you can skip to the tutorial on using the version of Raincrows for Windows with the built-in e-reader by clicking here.
Whether you want to read this ebook on your PC, Windows Laptop, Mac, Kindle, Nook, Tablet computer or smart phone we highly recommend that you download an ebook management program called "Calibre" . It's 100% free and it's free from bundled software and download page tricks too.

Want to read or Raincrows ebook on your Barnes & Noble nook device?
Loading books on the nook is SUPER easy. Just plug it into your computer and it'll show the folders of your nook like a flash drive. Pick out the folder My Documents and just drop the files in there. Once you are done, just eject the nook (by clicking the little icon on the task bar of your computer.) Go to your library on the nook and to My Documents and you should see them there - after the nook scans for new media.
Adobe Digital Editions - Freeware
If you want another choice of an e-reader for Windows or Mac you can download Adobe Digital Editions. Once installed click "File...add to library" and browse to the Raincrows folder and open the "epubversion-Raincrows.epub. While Adobe Digital Editions provides a nice reading experience and gives you the ability to save your spot in the book by bookmarking a page, it does not have nearly the number of features Calibre has. On the other hand it has a very simple and easy-to-understand interface. Adobe Digital Editions is also available from the Apple App Store (free).
Using Windows and don't want to download Calibre or Adobe Digital Editions?
If you do not wish to download Calibre and you're using a Windows laptop or PC, you can simply double-click on the file named "raincrows-Windows-only.exe" to run the executable. The Windows-only version comes with a built-in ereader -although the reader has far fewer features and options than Calibre.
If you choose to use the Windows-only version, here is a short tutorial for you.
Unzip the file you downloaded and find "raincrows-Windows-Only.exe" and double click it to open it.

You can move backward and forward through the book using your mouse or by using the arrow buttons (see below):
Here are the control icons enlarged. To close the ebook simply close the Window. Remember though, unlike Calibre, the built-in e-reader won't bookmark pages for you. In the folder called "Raincrows", that was created when you unzipped the file you downloaded, are files with epub, mobi and pdf extensions. The PDF file can be opened in any PDF reader on Windows or Mac. The epub file can be opened by most ereaders including Nook. The mobi file is exclusively for Amazon tablets and readers. If you want to know how to move the epub or mobi files to your tablet computer, ereader device or smart phone, we recommend using Calibre to do that. If you do not wish to use Calibre, please see this page for some suggestions on moving these files to your tablet, ereader or smart phone by sideloading.
