Calibre help and tutorial
First, we'll assume you have downloaded the Raincrows ebook and unzipped it. When you do, it creates a file in the directory in which you unzipped it called Raincrows. And now you're ready to download, install and start using Calibre.
Calibre offers so many features it's easy to understand why we highly recommend reading our Raincrows ebook using Calibre. From giving you complete control over fonts and styles, to highlighting the chapter you're currently reading, to bookmarking pages so you don't loose your place while reading, to sharing our Raincrows ebook with your other devices such as smart phones, tablets and most e-readers - Calibre does it all.
Of course even a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step - you'll need to download Calibre and install it first. It's available for Windows and Mac computers. All versions of Calibre (Windows, Mac and more) except for the Windows XP version are available from this page. It comes in 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Make sure you download the correct version for your computer. If you're not sure, right-click on Computer and select properties and it will tell you there. If you're using Windows 8.x, or Windows 10 right-click on "This PC" and choose "Properties".
Widnows XP users - heads up: If you're using Windows XP you can download the older version of Calibre from here.
Once you've downloaded Calibre and installed it, you'll need to set it up, and it's very easy. We suggest choosing Generic when you set up Calibre - you can change this later, but you probably won't have to. See screenshot below.
After you have chosen Generic and clicked next, you'll see the dialog below. Note they offer videos and a user manual to help you if you need extra help. When you see the dialog below, you're ready to add your new Raincrows ebook to your Calibre library.
What good is library without books! Let's add Raincrows to our Calibre Library. Click on Add books.
When you unzip the file you downloaded after your purchased our Raincrows ebook, a folder will be created on your computer called Raincrows. That folder contains all the different versions of our ebook, so you can read it on all of your devices. What you're interested in is adding either the file called epubvesion-Raincrows.epub or kindle-version-Raincrows.mobi to your Calibre library. You can add them both if you want to, but one or the other will be fine. All you have to do is click "Add books" on the Calibre toolbar, browse to the Raincrows folder and select either the epubversion-Raincrows.epub or the kindle-version-Raincrows.mobi by clicking on one of them
See? That was easy. You see that Raincrows and Other Essays has been added to your Calibre library.
Just like a real book, when you open the book it will start with the title page, copyright information and preface. Then comes the first chapter, in this case "Raincrows" See?
You can toggle the table of contents on and off, make the text larger or smaller, and you can even change the font styles if you're not a fan of Times New Roman! See below for a quick overview of some of the function buttons.

Sharing with your other devices
Sharing our Ebook with other devices is easy with Calibre. Click on the icon on the toolbar labeled Connect/Share and share the ebook with many different devices - there's even a wireless options.
You can add as many ebooks to your Calibe library as you want and enjoy a great reading experience on your Windows PC or your Mac.
