How to restore Reg Organizer
Reg Organizer recently began distributing a new Beta update when Reg Organizer users clicked on "Check for updates" in Reg Organizer. The Beta update 8.50 Beta 1. Beta software is "test" software and should not be used to replace or update stable, released versions.
Emsisoft incorrectly identified Reg Organizer 8.50 Beta 1 as malware and quarantined it. This rendered Reg Organizer and Reg Organizer shortcuts, including taskbar shortcuts, desktop shortcuts, and start menu shortcuts unusable.
We contacted Emsisoft about this false positive and Emsisoft was updated immediately to fix this problem
If you're one of the people affected by this false positive, here's how to fix it.
Open Emsisoft, click on Quarantine under "Scan & Clean"
To restore Reg Organizer, open Emsisoft and click on "Quarantine". In the Quarantine section, highlight the following files, one at a time, and click the "Restore" button at the bottom of the Quarantine window.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Reg Organizer\RegOrganizer.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Reg Organizer\Reg64Call.exe
Reg Organizer and all of its shortcuts should work normally again.
