This is BARQUES LIGHT from CloudEight's
"The Sea" collection stationery for Outlook Express.
The lighthouse at Pointe Aux Barques,Michigan ("point of the little boats") was constructed in 1857 to mark theturning point from Lake Huron into Saginaw Bay, and to warn mariners of the shallowregions near the coast. The Coast Guard sold the land and the keeper's house to HuronCounty in 1958, and the light tower and dwelling were subsequently moved a few miles westto become part of the Huron City Museum, a seven-acre parcell of land maintained as a parkwhich contains several other authentic restorations of period buildings. The light stilloperates but is now automated.
