Add Irfanview to your "Send To" menu
 Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7

We've been fans of Irfanview for years and years. It's been our default image viewer since Windows 95. It's still our default image viewer in Windows Vista and Windows 7 (RC). We've never found anything better or faster for quickly viewing images in almost any format. If you're a fan of Irfanview too (if you're not, download this great freeware program and try it!) you'll love this tip.

You can add Irfanview to your right-click "Send to" menu quickly and easily. Why would you want to? Well, if your browsing your computer and find an image you'd like to crop, resize or change the format of, if Irfanview is in your "Send to" menu, all you have to do is right-click the image and send it to Irfanview. Irfanview will open with the image displayed and you can edit it however you want.

Here's how you can add Irfanview to your right-click, "Send to" menu:

1. From IrfanView, choose "Options" - "Properties".

2. When the "Properties/Settings" dialog box appears, select "Extensions".

 3. Near the bottom of the dialog, check "Add IrfanView to "Send To" shell menu" as desired.

4. Click "OK" to save your changes.

After you've checked the box and restarted you computer you'll see "Send To" "Irfanview" in your right-click menu (see image above).

Should you ever want to remove Irfanview from your right-click "Send To" menu, just uncheck the box next to "Add Irfanview to "Send To" shell menu.

We don't know of a faster or better image viewer than Irfanview. If you don't have Irfanview installed, this tip will mean nothing to you. But you can fix that.
