Why does my monitor go blank/black after the screensaver has
ran for a while?
Your power settings for your computer have an option to turn off
the hard disks, or the monitor, after a set amount of time. You
can adjust this setting as follows:
Right click on a blank area of your desktop
Click Properties
Choose the Screensaver Tab
Click the "Power" button
Adjust the settings for 1) Turn off Monitor, 2) Turn off hard
disks, and 3) System Standby. Options are for anywhere from 1
minute to "never"

- Why does the screensaver
come on, run a few minutes,
then go off and I see my wallpaper/desktop again?
Screensavers are completely controlled by windows, as far as
coming on or going off. The screensaver itself cannot control
this aspect of running. If yours runs a few minutes, then shuts
off and you go back to seeing your dekstop or wallpaper, then
you have some kind of program running in the background such as
email checker, system defragger, scanning program, etc. You can
click control/alt/del and look at the "processes" tab to see
what is really all running on your system when you think it is
"idle".

- I am
getting a runtime error, debug application error. What is
causing this?
This is an error that you will get if you're not using Microsoft
Direct-X version 9 or higher. Direct-X is a component of Windows
and allows you to access games, screen savers and other high
resolution animations and graphics. Microsoft Windows XP comes
with Direct X 7, Vista comes with Direct-X version 10. You need
to upgrade your Direct X version to version 9.0 or higher to run
the screen savers.
You can download the Direct-X runtime from the following site.
This should have been installed on your computer automatically
if your Windows Updates are current.

I
installed the trial version of Aquarium II and then once I
purchased it, it still shows it is a trial version and a white
screen saying to buy it comes up after running about three
minutes. What is causing this?
You need to uninstall the trial and install the full versioned
screensaver you purchased. When you purchase, you are
automatically redirected to the download page for the full
version. Be sure you check your tabs in your tabbed browser in
case this redirect page appears "hidden" due to various browser
settings.
Here is the information that was given when you installed the
trial:
Your screensaver trial will run for 3 minutes so that you can
preview and test it on on your computer. To uninstall, click
Start, then Programs (all programs), choose Cloudeight Premium
Screensavers, and uninstall. Or you can uninstall from control
panel. Note: If you purchase the Aquarium II screensaver, you
will have to download the full version and uninstall this trial
version.

I lost my screensaver when I formatted, system crashed, etc.
If you lose your screensaver due to a system crash or a format,
we cannot replace it. It is your responsibility to save a copy
of your downloaded screensaver to a CDROM, a flash drive
or other removable media for safe keeping. We offer a
great discount on a 2 gb USB Flash Drive which includes all ten of the 3D screensavers.
-
I get
an NSIS error (or file corrupted error); what does this
mean?
An NSIS error means the file you are downloading became
corrupted; this is due to there being some kind of interference
during the download process that caused a single byte of
information to be omitted. Most often this is seen with dialup
and international downloads.
Delete the file you downloaded, redownload and save the file to
a different location so that the cached file is not used.
-
Why doesn't my screensaver come on?
Screensavers are controlled by Windows. If your screensaver will
not come on, you most likely have some kind of security or start
up software preventing it from opening. You will have to review
the settings of your security programs and see which is blocking
the screensaver from starting when your system is idle.
Another cause is that you have some program running in the
background. Remember, a system must be idle for a screensaver to
start up. Finally, a system that is low on resources
simply may not have enough resources to run. We offer a free
trial so folks can test the screensaver on their system. Please
make sure the trial works before purchasing other screensavers.
If the trial will not work, you will have to troubleshoot from
the above.
