This tip is for everyone in the USA who has gift cards they don’t want

While I certainly appreciate EB’s thoughtfulness, I really have no need for the Victoria’s Secret or Mandy’s Manicure gift cards she gave me for Christmas. If you’ve received gift cards you know you’ll never use, and you don’t want to hurt the giver’s feelings, we’re going to show you a couple ways to get cash for those gift cards you don’t want.

The fastest, easiest way to turn gift cards into cash, is to use a Coinstar Kiosk. There are Coinstar Exchange Kiosks across the country. To see where the nearest Coinstar Exchange Kiosk that will turn your unused gift card to cash, visit this page.

You will, on average, receive between 60-85% of your card’s value.  If you accept, you will have to  verify your identity using a credit card and driver’s license, you will then get a printed voucher you can exchange for cash at the store’s customer service area. You must exchange the voucher in the same store where it was printed.
