So what do you think? Do any of the new features appeal to you? We think Story Remix will be well received as replacement for the very popular Windows Movie Maker that many people enjoyed. Also, we think most people will like the new currency converter feature in the Windows calculator. . Other than that we’re going reserve judgment for now.
Are you ready for another big Windows 10 update?
To be honest I doubt I will use much of the new additions to the Fall Creators Update but I will install it so I can keep current on my Windows 10 installation.
I do not see anything of aJaniceny real interest to me. But like Robert, I will install it to keep up with updates.
Same here, I will just keep up with the updates. I will just shut off what I don’t use and go on. I also think we are going to have two ” Control Panels ” at this rate for a long time, like others. I still which they would put some of these under optional updates so we don’t start getting bloated with things we don’t use.
The Creators update won’t install on my computer, and this new update doesn’t seem to have any new , interesting apps that enhance my time on the computer. However, like above , if it installs, it will keep my machine current. I wonder how these folks can find so much superfluous junk to crow about.
You will eventually reach the end-of-life of your version of Windows 10 – after which you won’t get any security updates of vulnerability patches. So yes, you can skip a major update or two, but eventually your Windows 10 version will reach the end of its life cycle. Here are some end of life dates for currently released Windows versions.
If Windows 10 is supposed to be the final operating system version (which I personally doubt) can we expect to be getting these large updates to it for free forever? At some point I expect there will be a fee. No?
Microsoft has said they will not charge for updates. They have discovered how to make money the Apple & Google way. Every Windows 10 version has and end-of-life date, after which it won’t be supported (no security updates, etc.).
Our feeling is that Microsoft will not charge for Window 10 updates. And Windows 10 will be the last named/numbered version of Windows. Of course, people love names, that’s why we have Creators Update instead of Version 1703 – and why the big deal over the name Fall Creators Update vs. Autumn Creators Update (fall wins). But no matter the name assigned to the update, it’s under the Windows 10 operating system.
Remember though, Microsoft doesn’t feel the need to share internal secrets with us 🙂
I agree will the folks above in that most of the “new” items are of no interest to me. But the improved battery life promised could actually be useful.
I also agree with everyone who left a message above.
No biggy!!
