Big Bug Blocks Windows Spring Creators Update

If you’re wondering what happened to Windows 10 Spring Creators Update due out this month, it has been delayed. According to some sources close to Microsoft the  release of Windows 10 Version 1803 (Spring Creators Update) supposedly planned for “Patch Tuesday” – April 10th-  didn’t happen. The next rumored release date  bandied about was Tuesday, April 17th and that didn’t happen either.

So what’s going on?  Microsoft reportedly found a major but rare blocking bug in its Windows 10 Version 1803 code. The bug was bad enough to cause Microsoft to postpone its plans to release it to consumers.  Microsoft now says that Version 1803 will be coming in the next few weeks.

According to Pureinfotech

Originally, Microsoft was rumored to release Windows 10 version 1803 — dubbed Spring Creators Update — during April’s Patch Tuesday (April 10), but it didn’t happen, instead the company rolled out a quality update.

However, it’s not that the rumor was wrong, according to a report from Windows Central, Microsoft was planning to officially launch the new version on April 10, but a blocking bug that couldn’t be overlooked appeared, and the release date had to be delayed.

Microsoft is currently working on a fix to push the Spring Creators Update to the masses, but as a result of this bug, those hoping to use the Media Creation Tool or try to download the ISO files will end up getting version 1709 instead.

So, what’s happening now? When Microsoft is planning to release the new version? Unfortunately, the release date of Windows 10 version 1803 is yet to be announced, it can take a few days or weeks, but (for now) the update still on track to be available sometime in April.

And it’s still not confirmed that Version 1803 will actually be called “Spring Creators Update”. The reason many are calling it that is because that name appeared in a pre-release version of Windows 10 Version 1803.

We hope that Microsoft holds back the update until all the bugs, big and little, are fixed. In the meantime, if you want to see some of the new features in Windows 10 Version 1803 (Spring Creators Update) take a look at our articles here and here.
