Desktop Wallpaper and Another Photo Site for You
Recently, we featured a site called Pexels. It’s a great site where you can find thousands of beautiful photos you can use for anything you want. And if you visited Pexels, and you’re anything like us, you probably found some great photos to use as your desktop wallpaper too.
Desktop wallpaper is a very personal thing. And we know what we like you may not like. Anyway, today we discovered another good free photo site. So, I decided to gather some photos I could use for my own desktop wallpaper. After and hour or so of browsing through Pixabay, looking mostly at landscapes and lighthouses I downloaded the ones that caught my eye. I ended up with a folder of 37 beautiful (at least in my opinion) images that I think would make great desktop wallpaper.
I decided to zip up the 37 image I downloaded to keep in my repository of future desktop wallpaper and to share them with you. It’s a way of sharing my “finds” with you, and also way to introduce you to another beautiful free photo site.
First, if you want to download my handpicked selection of 37 high resolution images that I think would make great desktop wallpaper, you can download them in one zip file here.
All the images in the zip file (except for one) came from a site called Pixabay. Like Pexels, Pixabay offers the images free of charge and you can use them for whatever you want.
The only reason we feel that Pixabay isn’t up to par with Pexels is that in order to download images from Pixabay, you either have to sign-up for a free account, or face a dreaded reCaptcha every time you want to download a photo. Pexels makes it much easier.
[But there is a way around that… using Chrome, right-click on the image and choose “Open image in a new tab”. Then go to the new tab and right-click on the image and download it. The only drawback to this method is all the images are smaller than the sizes you can get if you download them the way Pixabay offers them. But if you’re good with graphics, you can resize the images to whatever size you need – all of them are very high resolution.]
If you like the images in our wallpaper sampler, then you’ll want to take a look at Pixabay.
I love this site! I just right clicked and saved them and i resized them in Paint . No signing up and they look fine. I did a bunch for Valentines day. Thank you so much for these sites!!
Have used Pixabay for a long time. It’s a great site and can always find something there for my diggy scrapping!
