Your IP address is very much like your phone number. It’s a unique number assigned to you when you’re connected to the Internet. Your IP address is essentially like a phone number. To get on the Web you have to have an IP address; your IP address is automatically assigned by your ISP. But just because you have an IP address doesn’t mean some hacker or criminal is following you around or lurking in the shadows.
