Microsoft Yanks Buggy Windows 10 Security Update (KB4524244)
Still stuck! Microsoft can’t seem to pull itself out of the quicksand of seemingly endless buggy updates. So far, 2020 has not been a good year for Windows 10 updates with many people (certainly not everyone) reporting problems.
Microsoft has pulled its latest update (KB452444) released on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, as many users, such as this one, reported significant problems with the update.
Why has the latest windows update moved all my files into another user folder ending in .000?
When I closed doesn’t my PC last night it started doing updates and was taking a long time so I left it and went to bed. This morning I logged on – no problems but I then realised (can’t remember how) that my files had all moved on to another folder in the c drive ending in .000. After doing some seearching for advise on line I restarted the PC several times but its not changed. I have even closed down completely to see if this made a difference – it didnt. I am now worried that I will close down again and from what I have read this may be a temporary file.
I am not a computer whizz and reading some of the things I have has worred me that I could mess up trying to correct it. One suggestion I have seen is to remove the latest updates – there were 6 in total – KB4532693, 4537759, 4534132, 4528759, 4538674 and 1909.

I’m not having any problems with this latest update. Should I still remove it?
As we said in the article…” with many people (certainly not everyone) reporting problems…” Most people are not having problems but some people have. If you’re having problems you’ll know it. If all is working well then you have nothing to worry about.
I don’t want to sound dumb but how would I know if this update is bad on my Computer? Is there some way to check it? Something to look for or watch out for? I just want to be sure before I remove it.

I guess I’m good. I never did install this update!!
I guess it was this update that was causing problems on my computer with the desktop items. I uninstalled it, but do I need to do the reset if all looks/acts well? Thank you!
