Conversion is a crime. But we’re not talking about converting corporate money to personal money. We’re talking about converting files from one format to another. You always think the worst of us!
Yes….sure you can load up your computer with lots of programs to convert files from one format to another; but you don’t need to. How many times do you want to convert files anyway – twice in a blue moon? More? That’s cool.
What if we told you about a Website where you can convert most files types into most other file types in just a few seconds. Would you love us a little more? Wait! Wouldn’t you even like us a little more. Yes! It’s free. The free version allows you to upload and convert files up to 100MB which should be big enough for most all your converting needs. If you want to convert Windows into Mac, I’m afraid that will cost you about $1400.
Anyway…
If you want to convert a music file, videophile video file, document or image file from one format to another, you don’t need no stinkin’ programs! All you need is Zamzar.
Here’s what the head Zamzar has to say:
“Zamzar is dedicated to helping you transform your songs, videos, images and documents into different formats.
Our mission is:
‘To provide high quality file conversion for as many file formats as possible” We are intent on bringing order to your filesystem by offering you a one stop solution for all your file conversion needs. Like others we were fed up with having files in all sorts of formats, and no easy way of converting between them – the quest to find a better way led to the birth of Zamzar…'”
The basic version is free – they make their money by selling upgrades – bigger files, no ads, etc. But the free basic version is good enough for basic people like us. After all we’re not highfalutin’ folks. Were just your common ordinary file converters, here to show you the way.
Try Zamzar right now. It’s free – and you don’t have to sign up for anything to use the free service.
Just too confusing for me— the thought of being able to convert easily —- would be great.
I love the ease of it and will probably use it in the future, but wanted to convert a swf file. I might be nuts to expect such a thing anyway, and “Filetype conversion is not currently supported for swf”. Dang!
I think it would be advantageous to tell your readers that this is NOT a download. You just go to the website and do your file conversion from there anytime you need one. I saved it to my favorites so I could access it when I need it.
I believe when something says “Web site pick” that pretty much tells users we’re recommending a site and not a download, right?
I should have been made aware that you have to disclose your credit card numbers to use the “Free” file conversion from the Zamzar site. I don’t trust any site that requires my credit card to let me use their “Free’ site. I would expect to be told this from my Cloudeight friends. I am disappointed to say the least. Thanks,
Vince
You clicked an advertisement – Zamzar requires no credit card numbers – it never has. We constantly remind you and everyone BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU CLICK. Most advertisement are labeled as such. Zamzar is free – no credit card required.
