Snow
While I am not a fan of winter, I still find snow a magical gift from nature. Maybe because its beauty is transitory; maybe because it doesn’t happen that often anymore where I live. Maybe because I can walk through a forest laid silent by heavy snowfall and find a calming peace in my soul Or maybe because I can walk along the path through the dancing flakes and not get soggy.
Snow is a natural wonder that can be both mesmerizing and awe-inspiring. Its beauty transforms the landscape and makes my little world a winter wonderland. The way the snowflakes fall from the sky is a glorious sight, and the way they blanket the ground makes my world a serene, quiet, and peaceful place.
The beauty of snow can also be found in the way it reflects light. During the day, the snow is like a mirror, reflecting the sun’s rays and making everything brighter and more vibrant. At night, the snow reflects the moonlight and even the faint light from the stars, creating a magical and ethereal nightscape.
The texture of snow is another part of its beauty. The way it crunches underfoot and the way it can be molded and shaped into snowballs, snowmen, and snow forts is truly fascinating. While others curse the problems caused by heavy snowfall – and they are many – I feel lucky that I still have a child inside who still sees the beauty and the wonder of snow.
I also find that snow also has a therapeutic aspect, it creates a calming and peaceful outdoor world that reduces stress and anxiety by slowing down the world. I have always found that spending time outdoors admiring the beauty of the natural world is a natural tranquilizer. And talking a walk through the dancing flakes and being surrounded by snow-covered woods, is a great way to relax and focus on the beauty and wonders of nature and the things in my life that are truly important.
Although many may disagree with me, I find snow to be both beautiful and peaceful. Snow transforms the landscape, reflects the daylight and the night light, calms my spirit, and fills my world with wonder. While I dislike winter, I love the snow and the world that it creates around me. Snow is truly unique.
The next time it snows, stop and appreciate its beauty and the amazing winter wonderland it creates.
Snow is fleeting and its winter kingdom is not sound, but still, it builds of its substance soft beautiful castles. And in knowing its value must lie surely in absence, it summons the courage to pass on its throne.
I believe wholeheartedly what you say about snow…so beautiful to see, walk, and play in, and yet such a miserable, and dangerous entity for us seniors to navigate or work in!
