If You Have a Windows 7 Computer But It Didn’t Come With a Windows 7 Installation Disk – This Is For You!

By | April 21, 2012

Most computer manufacturers don’t include Windows installation disks with their computers these days. Instead they give you a recovery DVD or put a hidden recovery partition on your hard drive. The trouble with these is they only give you one choice — to recover your computer back to the state it was in the day you purchased it. That means, all your personal settings and files and programs – poof! Gone with the Windows.

If you have high-speed internet – here’s your chance to download the official Windows 7 ISO file so you can burn your own Windows 7 installation DVD — and it’s all legal. Your computer manufacturer has to provide you with a valid Windows 7 license key. It’s usually attached to your computer case in the form of a sticker – or it came with your computer documentation. So it’s totally legal for you download the Windows 7 ISO file and burn your own Windows 7 installation DVD.

You can use the Windows 7 installation DVD to do a repair installation of Windows 7 which means that all your programs and settings and files remain and Windows is repaired. It’s certainly worth the time it takes to download the ISO file (about 3.5 GB) and burn it to a DVD. Having the Windows 7 installation DVD gives you more options — and having more options is always a good thing.
