Sticky Notes
The Sticky Notes app comes installed with Windows 7. It’s simpler and more useful than many of the sticky notes programs you’ve probably used before. You can start Windows 7 Sticky Notes  by typing Notes in the search bar at the bottom of the start menu.  Create a note or reminder. Once your not is created, you can right-click it to change its color; click the + sign on the note title bar to add another note, or click a note and press ALT+4 to close the sticky note windows. Don’t worry – all of your notes will be saved automatically. Windows 7 Sticky Notes program is one, cool little application that offers a variety of user options. If you’re a fan of sticky notes, we’re betting you’ll find the Sticky Notes program in Windows 7 to be one the best you’ve ever used.

WordPad
Finally, Microsoft is beefing up its venerable old WordPad program. As many of you know, by default WordPad saves documents in Rich Text Format. And the new WordPad in Windows 7 saves in this format, by default, just as it has always done. But the new, improved WordPad is much better. When you browse the Save As Format list and you’ll see you can also save files in the Office 2007 .docx or OpenDocument .odt formats. You can also open Word (.docx) and OpenDocument (.odt) files with WordPad. It’s about time Microsoft gave everyone a free, built-in program to open Word documents!

Desktop slideshow
Windows 7 comes with some really cool wallpapers. And you’ll probably have a few more you’d like to add to the mix too. But with all those cool wallpapers at your fingertips you might have a hard time deciding which wallpaper to use. And then again, sometimes you just get tired of looking at the same old wallpaper.

Windows 7 allows you to show off all your wallpaper as a cool desktop slideshow. Here’s how you can do that in Windows 7:

Right-click an empty part of the desktop, select Personalize –> Desktop Background, then hold down Ctrl as you click on the images you want to appear in your desktop slideshow. Then all you have to do is choose how often you want the images to change (anywhere from once daily to every ten seconds). If you’d like the backgrounds to appear in a random order select “Shuffle”. Then, all you have to do is click “Save Changes” and your desktop slideshow will begin.
