We’ll we finally took the Bing it On challenge. And unlike the people on the TV commercial, we both choose Google over Bing. Bing has done a really good job of copying Google, but the search results were a little weaker and not ordered the same. So we prefer Google. Your results may vary. We like you to take the Bing It On challenge and let us know which search engine you chose.
When searching for food items, like “How many calories in a plain baked potato”, the clear winner was Google, because the nutrition results are set at the top and show clearly the calorie count and other nutritional information outside of the other results. Bing lists similar search results but doesn’t show nutrition info separated and at the top of the first page of search results.
Likewise when searching for flights between two cities, Google’s results are much clearer and listed in a more readable and understandable way.
But over all, Bing has done an excellent job of imitating Google (and if you try Bing you’ll see that right away). But we’re sticking with Google because we can find what we are looking for quickly. But if we had to use another search engine, we could get along fine.
Go to www.bingiton.com and let us know what you find. Who won your test? Which is best? Bing or Google? Let’s have fun with this. Are the TV commercials accurate? We’ll see.
I like Google so much better,Bing is not for me,I agree TV is pushing it but I’ll take Google anyday 🙂
Nope… I like Bing best…. Have never used Bing.. because it was more informative that Google.
I took the test and out of 5 searches that I voted on, Bing won 0! Just as I thought. I wonder who is taking these tests that they talk about that are voting Bing?
I like google better and I am able to find what I am looking for a lot faster than bing. I don’t like bing at all. It is google for me.
2 weeks ago we decided to go to Roger’s Flea Market in Rogers Ohio. Bill printed a map from Bing and when I saw welcome to Pa. I knew Bing was not for me. We could have turned right and been there 30 minutes earlier but no we went left like their directions said 🙁
Jackie
He went back to Google now.
Your comments belong in some stand-up comedians routine I did indeed LOL!
I tried Bing & couldn’t get back to Google fast enough. It is a poor excuse for a search engine.
Google me anytime. Try the Bing challenge and found it wanting……. to be more like Google. Why change, If it ain’t broke why fix it?
I put google first, Firefox second and Bing a distant third. Sometimes the google search engine is bettered by Duck Duck Go. It pays to do a search with both.
How do we get rid of Bing?
Been ‘wondering’ about this myself…..I have been with Bing for a long while. In the challenge Google did better; so guess what, I decided to FINALLY change and went for the entire works by changing even my Home Page to Cloudeight Start Page being it includes Google……Thanks
Bing It On challenge was a challenge alright. What a challenge in deed…Google all the way for me.
I agree with you.
not a surprise 5/5 google wins. Still using google
The one thing I prefer about Bing is the images search, cuz the thumbnail magnifies when you hover, like Google used to do. But that’s all i like about Bing. Google is still #1
Bing one! Google four! It asked “how about a rematch” Haha
I wasn’t at all sure which one was bing and which one was google though.
Sorry, I meant to add I wasn’t sure which one was google and which one was bing as I totally expected them to switch sides randomly. In retrospect, If I had known it didn’t switch sides, I could have cheated even! well Google wins!
Lol Maybe I should stop and think before hitting post! The one that I chose of Bing’s was a math question. I do want to go and try that again! The thing I loved was that Bing showed the answer at the top of the page! So, maybe when we have a math problem…Sure leaves a lot out though.
Google or DuckDuckGo….ALWAYS.
I never even had a desire to try Bing before this challenge link.
No matter what I’m dealing with, “copycats” turn me off
completely. Most are trying to make a buck off of somebody else’s hard work, innovation, concept, or success. Then, they lie or distort in their marketing to make their own seem equal or better.
all of the above: me too.
