How to Send a Page with Chrome

By | October 14, 2013

Thelma is trying Google Chrome and can’t find a “Send page” feature
Since IE will be gone in a couple of weeks:( I need to use a new browser. I’m trying to set up Chrome. Do you know if it has “PAGE SEND/ LINK”? I use that all the time, but don’t see that on Chrome. Any suggestions? Thanks, Thelma

Hi Thelma. There’s an extension (by Google) called “Email This Page” which is available from http://goo.gl/jtGzK  . Following are a few details from Google about the Email This Page extension for Chrome:

This extension adds an email button to the toolbar which allows you to email the page link using your default mail client or Gmail. If you often share web page addresses (URLs) with others, this extension will make your life easier.

When you want to share the web page you are looking at, just click on the email button and this extension reads the web page address from the current tab, plus the text you have selected on the page (up to a certain limit) and creates an email out of it for easy sharing with your friends.

If this sounds like something you would like to add to your Chrome browser, visit http://goo.gl/jtGzK  and add the extension to Chrome. It only takes a few seconds and it works great.

IE will not be gone anytime soon, so I’m not sure what Thelma is referring to as to what will be gone soon. We think she was referring to XP and not Internet Explorer.  IE is in version 11 and 12 is under development.

What do you mean IE will be gone in a few weeks? Did I miss something?

It was my error when I asked Darcy this question. It was supposed to read, Google will be gone in 20 days. Sorry about the confusion. BTW that “Send Page” works great. Thanks again, Darcy.

Maybe she’s referring to iGoogle? That’s the only thing I can think of that will be gone soon.

I love the “Email this page” extension. Makes it so easy when I run across something I think will interest someone I know, I can just click it and it brings up my default email program and all I have to do is type in the recipient’s email address.
