Tylenol doesn’t work for me, so I’ve gone back to good old aspirin and sometimes, Ibuprofen. I was always suspicious of Tylenol after reading the warning label – I bet there are a couple thousand snakes that wish mice came with warning labels.
Because we found this article interesting — and illuminating — we are sharing it with you. Though you may think this has nothing to do with computers — you’d be wrong. At least 80% of you use a mouse 🙂
Read on my friends…
Two thousand mice dropped on Guam by parachute — to kill snakes
They floated down from the sky Sunday — 2,000 mice, wafting on tiny cardboard parachutes over Andersen Air Force Base in the U.S. territory of Guam.
But the rodent commandos didn’t know they were on a mission: to help eradicate the brown tree snake, an invasive species that has caused millions of dollars in wildlife and commercial losses since it arrived a few decades ago.
That’s because they were dead. And pumped full of painkillers. The unlikely invasion was the fourth and biggest rodent air assault so far, part of an $8 million U.S. program approved in February to eradicate the snakes and save the exotic native birds that are their snack food.
Very interesting. I didn’t know that snakes would even eat a DEAD mouse, especially with a parachute attached. No fun in the “chase”. I have a friend who was stationed there. He often
mentioned these tree snakes he saw “hanging” from just about from everything.
The article says (I believe) that this is fourth drop. Is it working? No mention of how many dead
snakes have been found. Surely, those tracking devices hidden in some of those mice, must be
providing SOME information after 4 droppings. Isn’t the “results” the most important thing?
Coincidentally, I read another article today about acetaminophen that you probably WILL NOT find
on NBC or any other national news reporting source. (Acetaminophen is the active ingredient in Tylenol and other OTC meds and used in some prescribed pain medications) “ACETEMINOPHEN is actually the number one cause of acute liver failure in the US. Combined with alcohol, it can cause serious Kidney dysfunction.” (Don’t take tylonol for a hangover, TC) In addition, note the new additional warning the FDA requires on the labels concerning horrible and often fatal skin diseases from acetaminophen.

My aunt died two years ago. Cause of death was liver failure….a horrible way to die. The doctor told her family there was no doubt in his mind that the real cause was her arthritis medication.
Thank you both for the heads up on Acetaminophen. Sorry for your loss, Muriel… 🙁
