Mending Wall…kind of

By | December 11, 2013

Something there is that doesn’t love a wall,
That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it,
And spills the upper boulders in the sun,
And makes gaps even two can pass abreast…

“Mending Wall” by Robert Frost

This article has zero to do with Robert Frost, but it might. It has nothing to do with poetry, but it might. It has nothing to do with anything, yet may have something to do with every thing. As with life, this site / Web application is what you make of it.

It’s called Padlet. They give you a wall. Just a plain, old, blank wall. You can put anything you want on it — please no pictures of TC with a target drawn on his head, though. But you can put text, images, videos, pictures, anything you like and move them around. Make a mess or a masterpiece; Padlet, like life, is what you make of it.

You start off with this:

Padlet

And go from there. You can collaborate with someone else and make double the mess or double the masterpiece. You can use it to keep track of the weather, the stock market, your secret love, your favorite goat, your filthy habits, or anything else you deem worthy.

Hey, this is the 21st century — anything goes!

Well, our job is to find things and tell you about them. Here’s someone who thought making a list of good places to eat in the Bay Area was a great idea.

Yo ho! Yo ho! A sailor's life for me!

Maybe you have a bunch of recipes you’d like to keep safe or share. Aye Matey, ’tis up to you. I have to go feed the albatross and drink a little sea water, aye!

Build a wall, make it a mending wall. Good fences make good neighbors and all that stuff. Visit Padlet today and start making a mess or a masterpiece — alone or with a friend. It might even be more fun collaborating with an enemy, you know?

Oh yes, I almost forget…he’s the required blurb from the creator of Padlet…

Padlet is an Internet application that allows people to express their thoughts on a common topic easily. It works like an online sheet of paper where people can put any content (e.g. images, videos, documents, text) anywhere on the page, together with anyone, from any device.

Think of it like a multimedia friendly, free-form, real-time wiki…

I made a “wall’… but dont know what to do with it… it says you can share with facebook, twitter, etc… but how can I save it… I am at a loss… What were we to do with it after we made it… it’s no fun unless someone else knows what you wrote…

This looks like it could be a “good” thing, but definitely a “fun” thing for the time being.
A “WALL” that that does not have to be a Facebook. How refreshing.
