5. Above you can see where I’ve changed the computer description to Jennifer’s Laptop. You can put anything you want there. Click Apply/OK
6. To change the computer name…
7. Click the “Change” button next to “To rename this computer, click Change”.
8. Above: I’ve changed the computer name to Jennifer’s Laptop but you can rename it “The Big Elephant” or “Mean EB” or “Whatever”.Β After you type the name you want, click OK. That’s all there is to it.Β You may not be able to use apostrophes in your computer name… I didn’t test it π You might want to avoid rejection by using Jennifers Laptop or Jennifers-Laptop or Big-Elephant, or whatever — you can extrapolate.
For those using Windows 10 – you can rename your computer as described above.Β Or you can do it this way:
Click Start—>Settings –> System —> About: Click “Rename PC” .
In Windows 10 you have to join separate words with hyphens. like Jennifers-Laptop.
