Hey Darcy and/or TC, I am setting up new computer and running into problem with Microsnot. Have I mentioned how much I hate MS??? I did not enter them into the settings to have anything to do with login screen and in fact they won’t let me login now at all. I am on the other computer. What this boils down to is I need help with getting the new HP working. I had the email TC gave me but thanks to the fantastic (Oh Ha) advice from Lenovo tech I lost everything I had and then had to begin all over. Just let me know what can be done to get you to help an old lady. If I have run out of options that I might already have paid and then used, please let me know so I can pay and get help.

Gail, you cannot easily create a local account when setting up a new PC. And we can not do it for you. The only way to create a non-Microsoft Login is to disconnect from the Internet and set up your computer. Or set up a Microsoft account and then set up a local account and delete it. I STRONGLY advise you to set up a Microsoft account regardless of your feelings toward Microsoft. The reason is, if you do that, you’ll never get locked out of your computer since you can reset your password online. Additionally, some features are not available unless you use a Microsoft account. Microsoft is not the only one doing this – try to set up an Apple device or Chromebook without an account.
