Oops we made an error in both Premium and Free editions of our InfoAve newsletters. We used Google’s link shortener to shorten the link and apparently it violated their terms of service. Hmmm. Funny that Google who allows scamware, scumware and malware advertisements would find a good, upstanding and useful program like Error Goblin to violate their terms of service. Maybe Google should stop relying on bad algorithms and start relying on real human beings with common sense. Wishful thinking. That’s never going to happen.

I know when you read the word goblin you immediately thought of EB…kind of like when you think of the word angel, you think of TC. And both are correct. But the kind of goblin we’re writing about today isn’t EB’s kind of goblin, it’s a software program of great usefulness.

So you have a problem and Microsoft, always wanting to be helpful, gives you an error code you can sit there an look at — something like 1KBX412043G. So you try to copy and paste it in Google or Bing or whatever and you will probably find yourself on some forum somewhere were 9 out of 10 people don’t know any more than you do — but they think they do. And if you’re lucky you’ll find someone who actually knows what they’re talking about — and hopefully speaks English. And another thing, just because someone has the initials MSMVP after their name — doesn’t mean they know what they’re doing. Kind of like just because someone has the initials MD after their name doesn’t mean they know what they’re doing.
