Do You Love to Read?

By | September 16, 2014

Very seldom do we ever recommend things you have to pay for, but today we’re making an exception for a couple of reasons:

1. If you read several books or more a month this is a good deal

2. There are no free services available that give you such a huge selections of books – including best sellers

If you read several books a month or more, you probably spend more than $8.99 a month on books. Paperbacks sell for $6 and up and new hardcover books sell for $25 and up – at least here in our neck of the woods. We’re testing a service (so far, so good!) where you can download and read unlimited books, including new books and bestsellers for around $9 a month – or about the price of one paperback and a cheap cup of coffee. Maybe this sounds so good to us because we sometimes read six or seven books a month. Do the math. Even if we bought digital books on sale at Amazon for $2.99 we’d be spending at least $18 a month at that rate — and new books and best sellers are more than $2.99.

We could wax on forever about our love for books, and we know many of you love books too; that’s why we’re featuring something today that is not free, but well worth the price – if you love to read, that is.

Let’s not beat around the bush anymore. We think it’s worth the price for what you get; we hope you agree! Here’s some tidbit from Scribd:

Love, love, love to read! I have both a Kindle reader and a Nook, and many times start a book on one while I’m still reading something else on the other. The saying is so true, ‘So many good books, so little time!’ Thanks for this great tip; I have checked it out and will subscribe!

I read about two books a week. I pick them up at my local library, less than a mile away.

I have extremely good selection, ability to reserve any book, and 24 hr return.

    Costs me $0.

Just beware of www,funtin.com. I was searching for a book on Methods and Materials of Painting at a free e-books site when a new page popped up, the Funtin page which required me to provide my Credit card details as I thought, in case they could not find an ebook and would have to post me a hard copy. Imagine my surprise when my credit card was debited with$23.95 as it seemed I had subscribed to a membership scheme at $23.95 per month. The do not have an email address where you can write to them, just a reply comment area, which I used to complain to them. They sent me an email claiming they would refund me my $23.95, but the next month there was another $23.95 charge on my card, with a partial refund. To whom can I complain about this robbery? I received absolutely NO benefit from the money that was obtained from my account.
