Ét Tû Bruté: How to make those special characters you love(?)

Don’t you wish you could write stuff like Et tu Brute like the title of this article – with all the fancy accent marks and so forth. YES! EB! I know you can find them in the Character Map but who wants to hunt through that thing?

We will explain how to add those foreign characters to any letter just by pressing the F8 key. It’s not a secret, the F8 key doesn’t really do it, a program called AX does it. It does it wherever you want it by placing the cursor just the right of the letter you want to accent and then tapping ye oldé F8 key.

It might not be something you’d use very often, unless you have an Uncle Frâncóis in Paris or an Uncle Pedrô in Brásil – but it’s fun anyway.


It’s really simple to use and you can select from various languages (over 20 of them) and write right.
