Find Out When Windows Was Installed on Your Computer
If you want to know how long it’s been since Windows was installed (or reinstalled) on your computer, here’s a tip for you.
Type COMMAND in the taskbar search and press Enter when Command Prompt appears.
In the Command window, at the prompt type…
systeminfo | find /i “install date”
Then, press Enter.
As you can see in the screenshot, Windows 10 was installed on my Dell laptop on March 11, 2020. Actually, that is not the original install date; I did a Windows 10 reset and reinstalled Windows on that date.
If you reinstalled Windows or if you’ve done a Windows 10 reset, you’ll see the date you reinstalled Windows 10 and not the date Windows was first installed on your computer. But it’s still a great way to see how “old” your current Windows installation is.
Oh… one more thing… Please do feel free to copy & paste the command. The command must be entered at the command prompt exactly as shown or, boo hoo, it won’t work.
Good info. Thank you.
