Five Quick & Easy Windows Tips
Sometimes the simple tips and tricks are the ones we remember and use the most. So here are some quick and easy Windows tips we hope you find useful. These tips are for Windows 10 and 11 unless noted otherwise.
- To open an extended context menu, press and hold down the Ctrl+Shift keys while right-clicking any file or folder. (Windows 11). To open an extended context menu in Windows 10, hold down the Shift key while right-clicking a file or folder.
- Press Ctrl+Shift and then right-click on the Taskbar and you’ll see the option “Exit Explorer” (Windows 10)
- You can quickly create a shortcut by holding down the Ctrl+Shift keys and dragging and dropping the file or folder to the desired destination. (Windows 10 & 11)
- Press the F5 key in Notepad to add the date and time to any Notepad file. (Windows 10 & 11)
- Holding down the Shift key while dragging a file or folder to the Recycle Bin bypasses the Recycle Bin and permanently deletes the item. (Windows 10 & 11)
