Fun with your numeric keypad

Wondering how someone makes a Heart, Arrow or even a TM trademark symbol with their Keyboard? All you need to do is Hold down your “ALT” key and press numbers on the number pad to create a symbol. Here is a list of some you can make. Have Fun!

    not all of these work for me..??? in fact, most of them don’t.

    Most of them don’t show until you release the “Alt” key.
    The version of windows may have something to do with it also.

    I tried it in a email when i hold alt key down and type nothing is there and my saga continues….

      You can use Character Map to copy and paste any character in your font set. Holding down the alt key does nothing unless you know the Alt+numeric pad combo. If you’re using a laptop this gets even more complicated since most laptops don’t have numeric keypad. You can’t use the numbers at the top of your keyboard with the ALT key – it doesn’t work.

      Your best bet is to use Character Map. Windows key + R and type charmap — then enter. Works anywhere including here.
