G-tips not Q-tips: 171 Tips For Chrome and Google

G-tips – A page of 171 tips (and counting) for using Chrome & Google

Google has a Web page called, creatively enough, Google Tips. This page uses clickable cards to explain the features and capabilities of Google’s biggest products. The cards explain concepts such as adding your Chrome browser to your TV, checking files for malware & virus using Google Docs, tips for online safety, tips for YouTube and a lot more.

Card descriptions are written in colloquial English: photos are to be “spiffed up,” YouTube can be played “like a jukebox.” Clicking on one takes you to a simple walk-through, estimating how long the process will take, and detailing the “stuff you’ll need” to complete the task.

All this stuff is waiting for you right here!

What happened to the wonderful calculator that windows 7 had? Could not find one for the desktop in windows 10. Is there such a thing?

Click on your start menu, click on All Apps, under “C” in the menu, the first thing listed is “Calculator”. It’s even better than the one in Windows 7.

And here’s another hint for you — if you can’t find something in Windows 10, just open the start menu and start typing…you don’t need a box to type in – just start typing. If you open the start menu and start typing Calculator it will come up at the top. You and find other things like Notepad, Wordpad, etc. this way.

I found Calculator under Calendar in the W10 men — Calculator is what I got when I selected Calendar. I chatted with a Microsoft tech about how to use the Calendar and waited patiently while he found it and taught me how to log in Local. At the end of the session he promised to send me a copy of our session so I quit the questions. After the end of the session, I no longer had a Calendar on my menu. 16 hours later, I also don’t have a transcript of the session.
