If you’re upgrading to Windows 10 and you use Emsisoft, heads up!
Most of you know, by now, the Web is abuzz (is that a word, EB?) with misinformation. If you’re planning on upgrading to Windows 10, there’s a good chance you’ve read, in a computer newsletter, a Windows forum, or in a computer magazine, that in order to upgrade to Windows 10, you must uninstall your anti-virus/security software.
We don’t know about the other security programs out there, but we can tell you for sure that if you’re using Emsisoft you DO NOT need to uninstall Emsisoft to upgrade to Windows 10.
We have had a lot of experience helping people to upgrade from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 with our Get Ready for Windows 10 service, and the majority were using Emsisoft. Emsisoft presented no problems at all for those upgrading to Windows 10.
So, if you’re an Emsisoft user who’s planning on upgrading to Windows 10, ignore the bloggers and tech columnists who caution you to uninstall your antivirus/security software before you upgrade.
We’ve been saying for a long time that Emsisoft is the best antivirus/anti-malware you can use.Not only does Emsisoft provide world-class protection for your computer, it’s also proven itself to be smart and hassle-free.
If you’re planning on upgrading to Windows 10 and you’re an Emsisoft user, you can go ahead and upgrade to Windows 10 without uninstalling Emsisoft.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 and Emsisoft was installed in Windows 7. It caused no problem at all.
You don’t know how refreshing it was to read this article! I just spent several hours trying to figure out a way to get my U.S. Cellular modem to work with Windows 10 only to find out that it won’t. Very frustrating. But I really like Emsisoft, so when I read the title, I thought “Oh no”. LOL
I had Emsisoft on my windows 8.1 and upgraded to windows 10 and had no problems.
I upgraded from Win 7 to 10 in early August and although the upgrade went smoothly, I had to uninstall Emsisoft and reinstall it for it to work properly. Everything was then good.
Wish it would have kept my EHD’s intact and some of my older paid for games. But alas, not so.
I always read all your letters. They are very helpful.
Updated all 3 of my computers running Emsisoft and had no problems at all.
