Look ma! No ads!
How to use Google Search without the ads
Those of us who have tablets or smartphones know that searching with those devices is faster than search with a PC…there are no ads and clutter to waste space or waste time to load. So the question I asked myself, how can I get the same fast search results from Google on my laptop (Windows 7) computer?
The answer is simple http://www.google.com/xhtml
Look Ma! No Ads!
So what’s not to like? Add http://www.google.com/xhtml to your favorites or bookmarks – and hear no ads, see no adds, feel no ads – at least not on Google’s search results pages.
I just tried this but I am still getting ads both on Internet Explorer and on Google Chrome. Is there something I’m doing wrong? My results are way different than yours.
I’m writing again to clarify. When I did a search for a product I got ads. I did a different type of search for forums I was looking for and this time it returned NO ads. So does it depend on the type of search?
You’ve whetted my appetite to understand the whole google enveloping environment, but I can’t seem to learn anything about how to wisely use it, or in fact if I want to commit or get out of it!!!
Huh?
