Microsoft must be suffering a great deal of angst these days. Forecasts say that Windows will only garner 5% of the tablet market – and the tablet market is where the growth is going to be. While Microsoft wastes time with their childish name-calling campaign “Scroogled”, Google plays the adult and lets the child whimper. I never thought I would see the day when Microsoft stooped to this level. Obviously Microsoft can’t compete in the marketplace so its using its vast cast reserves to attack Google. They should be ashamed, but of course, they are not. This tells me that Microsoft is a ship without a captain, tossed about on an ocean they don’t understand. It’s sad really. All the coffee mugs and all the TV stars(?) in the world, aren’t going to gain Microsoft anything but an even worse reputation as a classless, clueless, pathetic giant, trying to turn back the clock to a time when it reigned supreme.
Google isn’t reacting to Microsoft puerile attacks because Google has class, something Microsoft lacks.
Here’s an example from Microsoft’s “Scroogled” campaign:
Microsoft Enlists Pawn Stars To Mock Google’s Chromebooks
Microsoft’s anti-Google Scroogled campaign is showing no signs of slowing down. Its latest target is Google’s Chromebook. Microsoft has enlisted the stars of the successful reality TV series Pawn Stars to lampoon what it wants you to perceive as the Chromebook’s limitations (“It’s not a real laptop!”).
If you’re not familiar with Pawn Stars, it’s a Las Vegas-based reality show on the History Channel where people take their old stuff in the hopes to earn some cash. In Microsoft’s latest ad, a woman wants to sell her Chromebook so she can go to Hollywood. No luck there, of course, as the seller quickly informs her that it’s actually just a “brick.”
“A traditional PC,” he informs her, “utilizes built-in applications like Office or iTunes that work even when you’re offline.” Neither Office nor iTunes aren’t exactly “built-in,” of course…

You would think the guys on Pawn Stars know a little bit about computers. I’ve seen the show a few times, and they certainly seem to know a little bit about a lot of other stuff. So it would appear their agreement to do this ad was all about the all mighty dollar! Microsoft’s all mighty dollar! Sometimes it seems TC and Darcy are the only people in the world with any scruples. And we give thanks for you both.
I think Microsoft should be thankful that Google hasn’t filed suit against them for malicious slander. It’s pretty bad when a company like Microsoft stoops to this level. The ad has only one purpose…to bash Google…I for one will make my next computer a Mac. Microsoft can ‘stuff it’. They don’t deserve my respect or my money.
I have become so disgusted at all of the underhanded and idiotic things Microsoft has been doing….especially over the last few years. They mess up updates so bad I stopped allowing them to download any windows updates. I have windows 7 and I use google chrome as my default browser, and have no intention of downloading or trying IE11. I love my computer the way it is….everything works! I don’t need microsoft messing up my computer. It is a shame the Pawn Stars are lending their faces and names to the Micosoft shenanigans….I guess their reputations are’nt worth much to them anymore! I can’t have respect for a company that operates in this way. I have a Kindlefire HD tablet and am loving its slick little operating system. It works great without Windows! My next computer will not have Windows on it either! I am glad Google is showing who has the Class!
