I have Emisoft and Total Defense and I received a warning about my fire wall not being on last week. I wasn’t sure if Emisoft had it’s own firewall and was fighting for it’s place on my computer vs what my Windows firewall does so I chose to let my Windows firewall do it’s work. Hope I made the right choice. What do you think?
Not really sure what this comment is doing on this post but you should never, ever, ever have two antivirus programs installed. Total Defense is huge security suite consuming large amount of resources and causing your firewall issues. Total Defense has a firewall but it’s a marketing gimmick…Windows Firewall protects the home user as well as any 3rd -party firewall. Emsisoft, thank heavens, does not have a firewall. You should uninstall Total Defense – make sure you don’t uninstall it using Control Panel. Make sure you use the removal tool posted on the Total Defense site, Geek Uninstaller or Revo Uninstaller. Removing Total Defense will get rid of it and return your firewall back to where it should be – the Windows Firewall.
I don’t know if you know this but Emsisoft is one of the best anti-virus programs out there, and it is the best antimalware out there. So you don’t need Total Defense at all, In fact, using 2 antivirus programs may actually conflict and leave you with less protection than using one good antivirus.
