Plan a Movie Night With Your Family or Friends
The world’s crazy right now with COVID-19 causing entire countries to shut down. I’m sure that one day we’ll look back on this time as if it were a bad dream, but I know we’ll get through it. What we all need right now are things – fun things – to help us get our minds off all the bad news and help us pass the time as we all fight through this pandemic.
If you’re one of the tens of millions who are sheltering in place or practicing social distancing – listen up! This is for you.
Since family gatherings and sharing time with your kids, grandkids, and friends may not be possible right now, why not organize a special movie night. You can all watch the same movie together, even though you can’t be together. What a great way to spend time together – you’ll even have a chat box where you can all chat while watching the movie.
All you need are the following: a streaming device (Roku, Amazon Firestick, Chromecast, etc.), Google Chrome browser or the new Microsoft Edge browser, a Netflix subscription, and the new free Netflix Party extension. Since 167 million people have Netflix subscriptions, and everyone can download Chrome or the new Edge and the Netflix Party extension for free, there’s an excellent chance a fun movie night is in your future.
I’m going to let the Netflix Party people tell you more about it while I get ready to have a movie night with my grandkids who live 100 miles apart. As soon as they tell me what movie they want to watch I’ll set up a fun family movie night for all of us while we all shelter in place.
So, without further yammering by yours truly, let me introduce you to the Netflix Party people:

Dear TC,
Thank you for being a little joy germ in this time of extreme emotional stress. In New Zealand, we have now been put into complete isolation which is a 4-week period which may be extended if people do not obey the rules and regulations. There are always the rule-breakers but in this situation, I sincerely hope that they put there thinking caps on and realize the seriousness of the situation. Of course, there is exemptions to the 4-week curfew the exception of practical services necessary for survival so to speak. Namely Supermarkets, Pharmacies and I think in the US of A you call them Gas Stations. It is an eerie uncanny feeling all around. The main problem at the moment is panic buying. The Government has informed the public that there is no problem with shortages of any food, sanitizers and personal hygiene products. The situation is becoming quite serious as the demand is putting the suppliers under stress as they are now becoming short of supply vehicles and drivers. Yes, it is a very stressful and worrying time but if everybody could just take a step back and work as one and take time to realize that we are all in this together perhaps with a little solidarity and compassion for each other things may become more manageable and the old saying is United we stand divided we fall. I wish one and all the very best and may families become tighter than they have ever been before. All the best to your and yours and also Darcy and your fellow colleagues who with time and patience try to keep the wheels turning for your loyal followers and compatriots. Thanks a million.
Kindest regards,
